Crappy Situation Closes Caddo Parish Road
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office had to close a chunk of road this afternoon after a major accident. It happened just before 2:30pm in the Keithville area, when a truck overturned on the road. But it wasn't the truck that caused the major shutdown, it was the contents of the truck.
Roughly 4,000 pounds of raw sewage was spilled across the roadway when the 18-wheeler overturned.
The accident, and subsequent spill, caused a section of Keithville-Keatchie Road to be shut down. The section of road closed was just south of Booker Road in Keithville. Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator indicated that an investigation into the crash will be happening, as well as the cleanup of the sewage.
The release from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office says that they believe the driver of the truck was heading south when the driver lost control. Then the truck flipped over, and caused the spill. The Sheriff's Office adds that Caddo Fire responded to the scene and transported the truck driver to a local hospital.
At the time of the release, the Sheriff's Office did not indicate how long the cleanup would take, and how long the road would be closed.
