For those who knew and loved 26-year-old Jermani Thompson of Reserve, Louisiana, the freakishly, bizarre accident that claimed her life, will live with them forever.

It was Tuesday night, August 30, when it is reported that at approximately 10:00 pm, Thompson was busy offloading luggage from a plane that had just landed at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.

It was during the offloading process that somehow the baggage handler's long hair became entangled in a belt loader which ultimately caused her death.

While specific details are unavailable, we understand that Thompson's injuries were substantial enough that she was immediately transported to the hospital, where she later succumbed to those injuries.

GAT Airline Ground Support, Thompson's employer, issued the following statement:

We are heartbroken and are supporting her family and her friends as best as we are able. Please send your well wishes to everyone at our New Orleans station during this very difficult time

Additionally, a spokesperson for Frontier Airlines also issued a statement:

We extend our deepest condolences following the tragic death of a team member of our ground handling business partner at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
