Hundreds of Airmen and Air Crafts arrived at Barksdale Air Force Base Wednesday to avoid potential damage from winds associated with Hurricane Matthew. The units came from Shaw Air Force Base and Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina as well as Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.

2nd Bomb Wing Commander Col. Ty Neuman says that Barksdale is more than happy to provide refuge for their East Coast counterparts. The relocation is standard operating procedure to ensure safety and security for personnel and high value assets.
