It's been a pretty good week for Shreveport and Bossier athletes. First, former Airline High, LSU and major league star Todd Walker was named to ESPN's all-time college baseball team. And now another ArkLaTex native, ex-Evangel multi-sports legend Josh Booty has made the list of the Top 50 Greatest High School Athletes Ever.

The list, compiled by sports website stadiumtalk.com, includes legendary figures like baseball's Ken Griffey, Jr. (Archbishop Moeller High Schiool in Cincinnati), hoops star Kobe Bryant (Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia), Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow (Alan D. Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Florida) and hockey superstar Sidney Crosby (Shattuck - St. Mary's High School in Minnesota). And also on the list - coming in at #41 - is prep football and baseball legend Booty from Shreveport's Evangel High.

Josh's numbers in both sports at the Broadacres Road school do border on the unbelievable, where he passed for 11,700 passing yards and 126 touchdowns. On the diamond, Booty was equally impressive, garnering the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year as a four-time All-State selection.

Here's Booty's stadiumtalk.com career summary:

"Despite missing four games as a senior, Josh Booty became the first player in high school football history to pass for over 10,000 yards, beating out fellow Louisiana quarterback Peyton Manning for the top state awards.

On the diamond, he won a silver medal with the U.S. Junior Olympic team while hitting 12 home runs in just 70 at-bats as a high school senior. Booty chose baseball out of high school and spent five years in the Marlins organization before turning to football at LSU."
