The Shreveport City Council is expected to make a final vote on the future of the Shreveport Country Club at today's council meeting. Businessman John Henry is proposing a $240 million mixed use project that would include housing and commercial business. However, not everyone is happy with the businessman's plan.

Residents in the neighborhood fear that city only sees dollar signs and are worried that the city council won't vote with the interest of the neighborhood at heart. Many residents say they feel the project is being rammed down their throats against their will and that nobody has studied the impact of the project on the community. The outspoken few say they moved into the area for peace and quiet, not to live close to a massive development.

Henry says the 13 phase project would rely solely on private funds  and would create 1200 temporary jobs and 200 permanent ones.
