News of a Flash and Supergirl musical had fans immediately pointing toward the cartoon Music Meister as its villain; if perhaps uncertain of the character’s outlandish style. Now, new set photos from cast and crew give us a look at Darren Criss in character as the vocal villain, and an early encounter with the team.

A number of Vancouver set photos (as well as selfies from the cast) have emerged to give us a first look at Darren Criss on the set, apparently eschewing the zoot suit and wild hair from Neil Patrick Harris2009 Batman: The Brave and the Bold character. No sign of those iconic shades just yet, but we do get to see Martian Manhunter and Mon-El hanging out on this Earth:

Granted, we don’t yet know what first brings the Supergirl crew over to Earth-1, or perhaps what universe the Music Meister hails from. The character’s presence has only been referenced as one of the headlines from Barry’s future vision, in which he’d apparently secured a six-figure book deal.

The two-part event will feature Glee alum Darren Criss as the Music Meister, whose menace is said to begin in the March 20 Supergirl episode, and continue in the following night’s Flash. Also lending their voices will be Jesse L. Martin, Carlos Valdes and Jeremy Jordan, along with Legends of Tomorrow stars Victor Garber and John Barrowman. Supergirl cast David Harewood and Chris Wood will also appear in non-singing roles, while original songs have been provided by both Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom, and the Golden Globe-winning La La Land lyricists Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

You can get a good sense of the whole cast’s musical prowess here, but stay tuned for more on Flash and Supergirl’s musical team-up.
