Louisiana Football Player Dies of Covid-19 – Classes Now Virtual
Tragedy for the family of a teenager in Baker, Louisiana just outside of Baton Rouge. A 14-year-old high school football player has died as a result of complications from COVID-19.
WBRZ reports Patrick Sanders was a freshman at Baker High School. All football players at the school are now in quarantine and all classes for all students will be taught virtually through Labor Day.
This week's scheduled Jamboree has been cancelled. The school is reporting 3 more cases among students.
Baker Mayor Darnell Waites says “The loss of such a young life is always a tragedy and the preventable loss of that young life is heartbreaking.”
