Free Beer & Hot Wings: Red Lobster Sued Over Racial Slur on Receipt [Video]

Devin Barnes, a Franklin, Tenn., man, is suing a local Red Lobster after a server released a picture of his receipt containing his personal information on a social media website last September.

Barnes went into the restaurant, but was in a hurry so he asked for his meal to-go.

On his receipt, he wrote "none" in the tip line.

He was later alerted by a friend that a picture of the receipt was posted on social media, but contained a racial slur, which the server alleges Barnes wrote himself.

Barnes says that he has a handwriting expert waiting to testify that it was NOT Barnes who wrote the racial slur.

The server, Toni Jenkins, received about $11,000 in donations after the social media posting last year.

Barnes is asking for a jury trial and $1 million in damages.
