Worried About Possible Flooding? Get Free Sandbags Now
The rain that continues to inundate the North Louisiana area is bringing on a set of problems that we are all to familiar with in our region.

That problem is flooding. With Cross Bayou at Cross Lake already seeing minor flooding and the potential for flooding around Wallace Lake and Lake Bistineau, now is the time to get proactive just in case we see the worst case scenario of Mother Nature's wrath.
All of Northwest Louisiana and much of east Texas and southwest Arkansas is under a flood watch through 4:00 pm Thursday, and forecasters with the National Weather Service in Shreveport say that an additional one to three inches of rain is possible in that time period, with a slight chance for as much as four inches of rain.
As our ground is now completely saturated, the likelihood of massive runoff of any additional rains could bring flooding of area waterways and low-lying areas.
Those who live in those areas prone to flooding know the drill all too well.
To help mitigate possible flooding issues, a number of local government entities are providing free sandbags for area residents.
