A busy night of partying in the French Quarter in New Orleans turns violent as someone opened fire on the crowded area. At least five people were wounded.

The incident happened near a busy spot on Bourbon Street near Orleans. One man opened fire on the crowd. He is now in custody. The shooting happened at about 2am on Sunday morning.
People out partying in the French Quarter can be seen scurrying into nearby bars as the shots ring out.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson responded to the scene as soon as they learned of the incident.

None of the victims have been identified and the conditions of the victims have not been disclosed.
