Back in 1986, some kids in Seattle had a band. They were actually pretty big locally. They had a big show at The University of Washington where they had the crowd wrapped around their finger. The singer was named Layne Staley, the band was Alice 'N Chains.

Eventually this band would morph into the legendary Alice In Chains. In 1987 Jerry Cantrell met the Staley, and they then formed the more popular evolution of the band.
