A local police officer is cleared by the courts. A grand jury has been hearing evidence in the case of police Sergeant Timothy Adgate. A violent suspect was killed by Adgate in the parking garage of a local casino earlier this summer.

35-year-old Marcus Boles was killed on June first in the Sams Town parking garage when he refused orders from Sergeant Adgate. Boles attacked the officer and tried to get a hold of his gun. Adgate shot Boles during the struggle. Caddo Coroner Todd Thoma told KEEL News at the time that Boles had "both sharp force wounds and a gunshot wound." Adgate has been on paid departmental leave while the case is being investigated. He's been on the force since August 1999.

Prior to the confrontation in the parking garage, Boles allegedly attacked a man outside a business on North Market, stabbing that victim and stealing a car. He fled but that stolen car was spotted by Adgate shortly after the incident.
