The location of the new facility is pretty awesome too. The privately funded venture will be breathing new life into the old Arlington Hotel and the surrounding area. City officials hope this venture, paired with the new Shreveport Common Park will bring new life to the historical area.

The ground breaking ceremony is open to the public. Mayor Adrian Perkins and the facilities owners will be on hand for the event. If you're interested in attending, the event starts at 4 pm at the site of the former Arlington Hotel, 700 Cotton St.
