Yet another Shreveport restaurant has fallen victim to the economic ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic. After barely passing their 2 year anniversary, Habanero's restaurant in Shreveport is permanently closing its doors. The restaurant shared the sad news on Facebook yesterday with this message:
We are sorry to announce that due to covid-19 pandemic our doors are closing! Habaneros Shreveport is closing it's doors permanently. We love our community and thank you all for the support! Vivian los Tacos!!!
The news came as a blow to hardcore Habenero fans who had been dedicated to the establishment since it won the coveted Golden Taco award shortly after their grand opening at Louisiana Food Prize's Taco Wars in 2018.
