It's hard to believe, but in 2020 there are still hundreds of groups that exist strictly to promote hate, discrimination and hurtful ideals. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, who researches and tracks the activity of known hate groups, claims there are more than 1,600 major hate groups operating in the United States. And, even sadder,  this isn't just a national issue as several groups are known to operate right here in Shreveport-Bossier including the KKK, Patriot Front, the New Black Panther Party and the Nation of Islam. Sadly, according to a report from KTBS, another hate group is attempting to recruit members in our area.

KTBS is reporting that dozens of residents found recruitment flyers from the neo-Nazi group 14First Foundation in their driveways this week. The flyers were in ziplock bags and weighed down with rocks as to not blow away. The flyer was promoting the organizations 'defense' of the 'white race' and asking those interested in their work to call a number for more info. We will not publish a photo of the flyer, the number or link to their website here. Also, their full mission statement that is published on their website is much too vile to publish any of it here. Similar hate filled promotional fliers were recently found in Kentucky, Texas and around the country. Several videos of the group delivering said fliers exist on social media sites.

KTBS spoke with a member of the 14First Foundation and you can read their reasoning and stance here. Personally, I don't want to validate them by publishing any of their words or beliefs here. KTBS is reporting that several reports have been filed in both Shreveport and Bossier. Honestly, there's not much the law can do in situations such as these. But, at least their activity is being tracked, recorded and hopefully that will stop this group and others from trying to grow in our area. These types of groups should have never existed to begin with, but they certainly should not exist or be allowed to thrive in today's world.
