51% of students in Caddo Parish are opting for virtual learning for at least the first 9 weeks. This is based on data gathered from a survey done this summer.

KEEL News asked to see the demographics of the students. We asked to see these numbers based on age, grades, gender, race, school, etc.

At this point, the survey results are not as detailed, but that information will be broken down later.

Mary Nash Wood tells us

The initial survey had families put their child’s name, school and preference for receiving instruction (in-person and virtual). We are now in the process of going back to families that expressed interest in virtual and ensuring they understand what is required of virtual instruction such as the fact attendance and grading will be taken and all policies will be followed. Families will then sign a commitment contract for a minimum of 9 weeks and that will then allow for the data at the level you are wanting.

Here's the list of schools and the numbers of students at those schools who are opting for virtual learning for at least the first 9 weeks. It also shows whether or not the student will need transportation to school if they will be attending in person.

Caddo Parish school leaders tell us parents will have to sign a contract and the students will have to follow all the guidelines and attendance will be taken. All assignments must be completed or the student will get 0's on that assignment.
