This is the final weekend of the 2023 Mardi Gras season and the Krewe of Highland in Shreveport, LA is ready to party with their annual Grand Bal and parade!

What does the Krewe of Highland have on tap this weekend?

Friday night, February 17, 2023, the Krewe of Highland wants you to get all dressed up and head to the Remington Garage in downtown Shreveport. Their Greek Gods and Goddesses Surreal Symposium kicks off at 6 pm and tickets will be available at the door for $65. The presentation of the royalty aka tableau will begin at 7:30 pm. As far as dress goes, think toga for your costume or formal, full-length dresses and/or black tie. There will be appetizers and a cash bar. And because it's the Krewe of Highland and they're always extra, there's an afterparty at Strange Brew at 235 Wall Street in Shreveport.

But they aren't done. Oh, no! The Krewe of Highland's, rolls out this Sunday, February 19th at 2 pm headed up by their Grand Marshal, A.J. Haynes of the Seratones.

I can promise you from personal experience, this is a parade you don't want to miss... especially if you have a family! This parade has long been considered the neighborhood/family friend parade in our area with participation by many local groups, including some you won't find anywhere else, like the Krewe of Barbeque and Krewe of Spam! In addition to typical throws like beads, cups, and stuffed animals, at the Highland parade, you can expect to catch items like hot dogs, Moonpies, and more! So check out the parade map and get there early Sunday to stake your claim! HUZZAH!!!
