My good friend, Kelly Wells, Executive Director at the Shreveport/Bossier Sports Commission, broke the news over the weekend about an incredibly exciting event scheduled for our area in the spring of 2022.

According to Kelly's post, Shreveport, Bossier City and Minden, Louisiana, have partnered with the National Guard at Camp Minden, Bossier Parish, Webster Parish and Caddo Parish, along with the City of Bossier City and Lieutenant Governor Billy Nunguesser and the Louisiana Office of Tourism, to host the 2022 ASA Easton/Hoyt Outdoor 3-D Archery Tournament.

This is a huge, national event that is expected to bring an estimated two thousand archers from forty nine states to compete and another fifteen hundred friends and family to the Shreveport/Bossier/Minden area from April 21 to April 24, 2022.

The four day archery event will take place at Camp Minden and the Pro Shoot will be held at the Bossier Civic Center on April 20th and will be televised live on the Sportman’s Channel.

Kelly goes on to challenge our local archers to compete in hopes some will make it to the podium.

LOOK: See America's 50 Best Beach Towns

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
