Arkansas is home to over 200 waterfalls some you've heard of while others may be a little off the beaten path and lesser known. But regardless of what kind of waterfall you are searching for, you're bound to find it in the Natural State.

Glory Hole Falls

One of the most impressive waterfalls is Glory Hole Falls in the Ozark National Forest in the Northwest corner of the state. Southern Living names this as one of the most sought-after sights for photographers and hikers.

What makes this waterfall so unique is that after a heavy rain, the water rushes 31 feet down a gaping hole from the bluff onto the canyon floor below making it one of the most breath-taking moments to experience in its full glory, no pun intended. What makes this waterfall so unique is that the water flows through the rock instead of over it.

Trip Advisor names it the second-best waterfall in Arkansas in 2024. Glory Hole Falls is a little off the beaten path more than waterfalls in Arkansas but it is certainly worth hiking to see this marvel of wonder. Keep in mind it's a pretty steep climb back up so make sure you're wearing hiking boots and have the proper hiking gear.

Glory Hole Falls is one of two walk-behind waterfalls in Arkansas the other is located at Devils Den Park. The hiking trail to get there is relatively easy almost a mile from Highway 16 near Deer. Just make sure you're wearing hiking boots and have the proper hiking gear.

The name Glory Hole Falls may sound a little awkward but the views are spectacular.

And if this is the first time you are visiting Arkansas for a hiking adventure you have to see Arkansas' Tallest Waterfall, Hemmed-In-Hollow-Falls this is one for the bucket list but you better have a pretty big bucket to catch all the water that rushes over the top of this mountain.
