It’s The Popular 5K Turkey Trot in Texarkana on Thanksgiving Day

If you want a fun way to kick off your Thanksgiving Day then you don't want to miss the 10th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot and it's for a great cause too. By taking part in this event you'll get a little exercise in before you load your plate for your Thanksgiving dinner.

This great event presented by Community Healthcore Foundation is a family fun event with a 5K Run/Walk for all ages. And you'll be home in time to enjoy family and friends. It all takes place Thanksgiving morning Thursday, November 23 at Spring Lake Park.

It is a great idea to do a little "Huffin' and Puffin' for the Gravy and Stuffin". The 5K Walk/Run will begin at 8:30 AM and will end at 10 AM

Sign up early to take advantage of the lower fee. You can sign up now online by Monday, November 20 at 12 PM. You will also be able to register the day of the event at 7:30 AM

Race packets can be picked up on Wednesday, November 22 at Racquet & Job located at 3435 Richmond Road in Texarkana between the hours of 11 AM to 6 PM.

There will also be a Packet pick-up on Thursday morning at Spring Lake Park from 7 AM until 8:15 AM.

The race will go on rain or shine, so get ready to get a little exercise in before you hit the turkey. Be sure to stay up to date on this event on their Facebook Events page too.

Community Healthcore is a non-profit agency. It helps locally with the Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Authority for 9 counties in Northeast Texas, including Bowie, Cass, and Red River Counties.

Community Healthcore provides mental health services to children and adults. There are also programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and assisting homeless Veterans.
All proceeds will be used for client services, unmet needs, and other assistance that doesn't have a funding source.
