With fall just around the corner, that means a lot of festivals will be popping up all over the state of Arkansas and here is one you don't want to miss. It's The Ouachita Bigfoot Festival and Conference and there will be something for everyone.

The fun all takes place on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23 just outside of Mena in the beautiful Ouachita Mountains at The Blue Zipline and Farm.
It's a 2-day festival with tons of things to do and enjoy like live music, pedal boats, arts and crafts, a flea market, food, a bounce house for the kids plus games. There will also be a fishing derby, a costume contest for pets and a night hunt.

There will also be a Bigfoot conference with speakers and a concert on Saturday night with Almost Guilty opening for The Leif Shively Band.

The Bigfoot Costume Contest for Pets is open to dogs, cats, lizards, chickens, goats, and pigs. Actually, any animal that is under 200 pounds. There will be two costume contests for the pets you can enter them for a $2 fee into the Bigfoot costume contest or the traditional costume contest (non-bigfoot).  Proceeds will benefit The Humane Society of the Ouachitas. HSO will also be onsite if you are interested in learning more about adopting a pet.

There will also be a reptile and amphibian exhibit presented by biologist, Dan Nedrelo.
and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be there with a large aquarium full of Arkansas native fish.

Learn more about Bigfoot and share your experiences during the conference portion and Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM and  2 PM to 4 PM.  Discussions led by field researchers Dan Nedrelo and Eudell Head and others.

At night there will be small expeditions to an area that has had Bigfoot activity for numerous years. These expeditions are for people 15 years of age and older with a limit to 40 people each night. If you want to go on one of these adventures you will need to sign up for that night's hunt at the information tent at the beginning of each festival day.

These small group squatchin’ will start Friday night at 9 PM and Saturday night at 10:30 PM.
