Backyard Chefs vs. Restaurants: The 2026 Beast Feast Showdown
If there is one date that every BBQ lover and foodie in the ArkLaTex circles on their calendar, it’s this one. Beast Feast, arguably the most unique and high-energy culinary showdown in the region, is officially returning to take over Shreveport on Saturday, May 2, 2026. From 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Jones Rice Field at Centenary College of Louisiana will transform into a paradise of smoke, spice, and savory delights.

It isn’t just your average cook-off. This is a festival-style culinary experience that brings together a wild mix of "off the menu" items you won't find anywhere else. The magic lies in the competition: you’ll see world-class, professional restaurateurs from across the 318 going head-to-head against talented "backyard chefs." Whether it’s a local celebrity chef or your neighbor who has spent years mastering the art of the perfect brisket, everyone brings their "A-game" to the pit.
Best of all, this event happens rain or shine, and it’s all for a fantastic cause. All proceeds from the evening go directly toward supporting student scholarships at Centenary, so you can feel good about every bite you take. Plus, it’s a family affair, kids 12 and under get in free!
