Busy Shreveport I-20 On-Ramp To Be Closed All Weekend

Let's recap the issues that we are presently aware of:

• I-20 east and westbound are down to one lane of travel in most of Bossier City
• Nighttime closures of various sections of I-20 in Shreveport as extensive concrete pavement repairs are underway from Pines Road to Market Street
• Nighttime closures for the same concrete repairs of additional sections of I-20 in Bossier City from Industrial Drive to I-220
• LA 169 (Greenwood-Mooringsport Road) closed just north of I-20 this Saturday, September 23, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm while a railroad company makes needed repairs to their tracks

Another Potential Traffic Nightmare For Shreveport Travelers

And now we learn from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development that beginning this Friday, September 22, at 7:00 pm, the LA 3132 westbound ramp to I-20 westbound in Shreveport, will be closed.

Those who regularly travel through this area should know that this ramp will remain closed the entire weekend until the morning of Monday, September 25, and is necessary to allow repairs to be conducted on the bridge deck.

What Are Alternate Routes To Avoid This Closure?

The DOTD says that this is a total ramp closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route such as Jefferson Paige Road, I-220, I-20, or Monkhouse Drive.

As with all projects of this kind, Mother Nature rules and the work will be done weather permitting so there could possibly be postponements or delays.
