What's this hidden talent? It's not such a secret if you've ever been one to need the help of others. We show up.

In spite of what others might say about us, we truly care about one another, and we always find a way to lend that helping hand when needed.

And now we have the opportunity to do just that for someone who spent his entire life answering the call when others needed him most.

Jimmy Lyles, who served many years as a firefighter and paramedic for DeSoto Parish before his retirement, is now facing a life-threatening battle of his own. For the past several months he's been awaiting a lung transplant and as his wait continues, his friends, family and neighbors are asking for your help as they put on a fundraiser for Jimmy this Saturday, April 18.

Volunteers will be preparing Chicken and Down Home Sausage plates that will sell for $15 at DeSoto Fire District #3 with all funds going to help Jimmy's cause.

Plates will be ready at approximately 11:00 am and even if you're not hungry, they would be tickled with any donation that you could spare.
