SWEPCO Reports More Than 37,000 Powerless After This Morning’s Storms
SWEPCO and the near 4,000 additional personnel who came to our area to return power to the thousands left in the dark after the terrible storms on June 16 had just about gotten everyone's power back.
There were less than 3,000 SWEPCO customers without power at about 5:00 am this morning on Monday, June 26.
Then, the storms returned to the area with a vengeance and as of this writing at 8:24 am on Monday, June 26, SWEPCO is reporting a total of 37,824 customers without power.
With reported outages in a number of places including the North Shreveport area around North Market at MLK and in North Bossier, the SWEPCO outage map looks like the outages are widespread, but especially in the Stonewall area and from Sligo Road to near Lake Bistineau in Bossier Parish.
There have also been reported power lines down at West 85th between Dowdell and Linwood so please stay clear of this area if at all possible.
The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10:00 am, so we might not be completely out of the woods yet.
To report an outage at your home or place of business, just go HERE to SWEPCO.com and follow the instructions.
