As Shreveport and all of Northwest Louisiana are gripped in a dangerous winter weather system, some are finding themselves bracing this life-threatening cold without power.

Though, at this writing, SWEPCO is reporting to only have approximately 1,187 customers without power, for those people, things have gone from bad to worse.

Because of this, the City of Shreveport has joined a number of local organizations and churches to serve as water distribution centers or warming centers.

These locations could be the difference between life and death for those caught in this extreme cold which is expected to last until sometime Wednesday afternoon.
