This week, 58 people were booked in to the Caddo Correctional Center for various crimes.
One of those booked was arrested for shoplifting with her young child.
Shreveport Police officers responded to a theft in progress at the Walmart located on East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
A Walmart employee reported seeing a woman, later identified as Autumn Blue, concealing merchandise while inside the store. The employee kept an eye on her and told SPD as the suspect attempted to exit the business without paying.
Blue had been issued a lifetime ban from Walmart in 2022, and had prior theft-related convictions, including at least two guilty pleas.
While in custody, Blue was allowed to give her personal belongings and her child to a friend. Officers also found suspected marijuana in her possession.
Blue was arrested and charged with Habitual Offender – Theft, Criminal Trespass, Possession of Marijuana, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Another was booked after slamming her car door on a SPD Officer's head and fleeing. Only to be caught later after crashing in to a dumpster.
Shreveport Police located and arrested a suspect following a hit-and-run investigation involving a Police Officer.
SPD responded to Monrovia Street in reference to a hit-and-run. The incident involved a red car hitting a dumpster that had been placed in the roadway for construction at a residence.
Officers discovered the car had fled the scene. Through investigative efforts, including tracking fluids leaking from the vehicle, officers were led to Huron Street, where the vehicle was located.
Officers made contact with the driver, later identified as Alicia Lewis, who was found sitting in the car with the keys in the ignition and the airbags deployed. The car had front-end damage consistent with the collision involving the dumpster.
During the investigation, Lewis repeatedly gave SPD with a fake name in an attempt to avoid identification. Officers confirmed her true identity and that she had permission from the registered owner to operate the vehicle.
While being processed at the Shreveport City Jail, Lewis was found to be in possession of suspected crystal meth and a glass pipe.
It was also revealed that Lewis was wanted in connection with a recent incident at a local Walmart, where she allegedly assaulted an officer by slamming a car door on them before fleeing the scene.
Alicia Lewis has been charged with the following:
· Resisting an Officer (Providing False Information)
· Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
· Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution
This incident remains under investigation.
