A Caddo Parish man was arrested after an investigation into domestic violence incident involving his former girlfriend.

40 year-old William Marble, who lives on Gorman Road, was arrested after deputies looked into allegations that he assaulted his former live-in girlfriend during a domestic dispute.

The investigation showed that the victim barricaded herself inside a bedroom when Marble was able to partially force his way through the door. He allegedly had a knife and a pair of scissors and was threatening the victim through an opening in the damaged door, making statements that he did not care about either of their lives.

Marble also allegedly strangled the victim to the point where she nearly lost consciousness during a separate incident the night before. The victim sustained minor injuries from that assault.

Investigators were able to determine that Marble was already prohibited from contacting the victim under a protective order. This order stemmed from a 2025 conviction involving the same victim for domestic abuse battery with strangulation.

A Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Deputy arrested Marble and booked him into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of second-offense domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse battery with strangulation, domestic aggravated assault, and violation of a protective order relating to a crime of violence.

From CPSO:

"Investigators are still reviewing additional aspects of the investigation, and further charges may be considered as it continues."
