Escapee Tre’veon Jackson Is Back in Shreveport Where He Now Faces Federal Charges
Barber says “Our main concern is the safety and well-being of our deputies.”
He adds “the only thing Jackson did right was surrender to our deputies with no resistance. And I am glad no one was injured during this apprehension.”
Barber says one of the U.S. Marshal's prime missions is the apprehension of serious fugitives. He says the agency helps capture 35,000 absconded felons each year.
He says we focus on the most egregious felons. Barber wants criminals to know “you can run, but we can run faster; you can hide, but we will find you and you can fight but justice will always prevail.
As to what charges Jackson will face first, that will be up to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the District Attorney.

United States Attorney Zachary Keller says
When dangerous offenders like Jackson escape from custody, it’s an all-hands-on-deck situation that requires federal, state, and local law enforcement working together to eliminate the threat. Our Office is proud to have sprung into action alongside our partners to bring federal charges against Mr. Jackson and coordinate with the United States Marshals Service, the FBI, and state and local partners to bring this offender back into custody,
Jackson escaped from the custody of a Caddo Parish Sheriff's Deputy during a medical transport. Shortly after his escape, Jackson allegedly approached a man outside a hotel in Bossier City, violently assaulted him, and stole his vehicle. It is further alleged that Jackson then led law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of over 110 miles per hour before crashing the vehicle and fleeing on foot. A multi-agency manhunt ensued, and Jackson remained at large for several days until he was finally located and arrested in Marshall. He is now in federal custody.
