Former LSU National Champion quarterback Joe Burrow is now done for the rest of the NFL season. Last night, Burrow injured his wrist, and will require surgery. The injury happened as his Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. While losing their high priced quarterback is bad news, it might actually get worse for the Bengals.

The injury came in the second quarter of the game, on a series that Burrow actually led his team down for a scoring drive. In fact, the play he was hurt on was a touchdown pass. That 4 yard score will now be the last pass of the season for Burrow.

Burrow told reporters on Friday that he felt a "pop" when throwing the touchdown to Joe Mixon. Though the play before that might have actually been the point where Burrow was hurt, and he was brought down on his wrist by Baltimore Ravens defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

However, there are reports that the injury may have started before Thursday Night Football ever kicked off. If that's true, the Bengals will probably be facing additional penalties on top of Burrow missing the season.

The NFL has very tough rules on manipulating injury reports, and there's the potential that Burrow's wrist may have already been hurting before the game. According to the New York Post, the Bengals' social media team posted, then deleted, a video showing Burrow wearing a brace of some kind on his wrist.

Both Burrown and his Coach Zac Taylor claim the brace/sleeve/case Burrow was wearing in the video was about flying, and not an injury. Both told reporters that players often wear compression items to keep from swelling up at altitude. However it does sound like the NFL will look at the situation.
