Shreveport-Bossier Flyers Face $45 Fee Without REAL ID
If you are flying out of Shreveport Regional Airport, or anywhere else in the United States, anytime soon, take five seconds and check your wallet.
Starting February 1, 2026, travelers who reach the TSA checkpoint without a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification can be hit with a $45 identity verification fee before they are allowed to continue through security.
This is not a new ticket charge from your airline. It is tied to the TSA’s alternative verification process, and it is designed for the small group of travelers who show up without the right ID in hand.
What Changes at the checkpoint on Feb. 1
The TSA option is called Confirm ID, and the fee applies when you do not have a REAL ID or another approved ID, like a passport. The verification covers a 10-day travel window, which helps with most quick round trips, but it is not a permanent substitute for getting compliant.

One key detail, paying the fee does not guarantee you will be cleared. TSA still has to verify your identity, and if they cannot, you can be turned away from the checkpoint.
