On December 8, 2024, at approximately 11:35 PM, Shreveport Police Department officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Roberts Street and Illinois Avenue. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, initiating a pursuit that ended when the vehicle collided with a pillar in front of the New Zion Apartments.

The suspect, later identified as Zauntravious Davis, fled the scene on foot while carrying an assault rifle. Responding officers quickly established a perimeter and apprehended Davis after a brief chase.

Davis initially refused to provide his identity and was booked under a false name. Through further investigation, officers were able to confirm his true identity. Davis faces numerous charges, including:

· Resisting an Officer

· Aggravated Flight from an Officer

· Obstruction of Justice

· Driving Under Suspension

· Hit & Run

· Illegal Possession of Stolen Things

Additionally, Davis was found to have an outstanding warrant issued by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.

This arrest highlights the exceptional work of the officers who worked diligently to remove a dangerous individual and weapon from our streets.
