The City of Shreveport Demolished Over 180 Structures in 2023

When Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux took office, he took aim at the city's on-going blight problems. Very early into his administration, Mayor Arceneaux issued dozens of letters recommending the City's Property Standards Department tear down structures. He spoke to KSLA as he sent the letters, saying:

“Blight, if allowed to stay, turns into more blight. As it spreads, crime spreads. The issues are tied together, and that’s why my administration is taking a proactive approach that begins with these demolitions.”

But the City didn't stop at that initial selection of structures. In fact, the City of Shreveport ended up demolishing over 180 structures in 2023. The total number ended up being 189 structures. Here are the addresses of all 189 structures across Shreveport:
