Shreveport Man Arrested for Domestic Violence And Warrants

Shreveport Police arrested a man following a domestic violence investigation in the 1400 block of Highland Avenue.

Earlier this week, SPD Patrol Officers responded to a welfare concern after receiving information that a woman was being assaulted by her boyfriend.

Officers saw visible injuries to the victim’s face and neck, extensive damage to the inside of the house and furniture, and damage to a garage door. The victim reported that Cory Dial had become enraged, destroyed property, and left the residence before returning and forcing his way inside the house.

The victim told SPD Dial pushed her, grabbed her face and neck, and pinned her against a wall. She also reported that his actions prevented her from calling 911.

Officers found out Dial had outstanding warrants for battery of a dating partner and simple battery. Officers, assisted by SPD K-9 personnel, located him at a home on Columbia Street. He came out of the home after repeated commands and was taken into custody.

Dial was arrested for:

· Battery of a Dating Partner

· Interference with 911 Services

· Outstanding warrants for Battery of a Dating Partner and Simple Battery

Another man, Kenneth Cottrell was also arrested after allegedly attempting to obstruct officers’ efforts to apprehend Dial.

From SPD:

"The Shreveport Police Department commends the responding patrol officers and K-9 personnel for their persistence in locating the suspect and helping protect the victim."
