A man shot and mortally wounded on David Raines Road in north Shreveport late Wednesday, May 24, 2023, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Eddie Lee Rogers, 72, was found suffering a gunshot wound outside his residence in the 1800 block of David Raines just after 9:10 p.m. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 9:19 p.m.

Mr. Rogers was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.

The death marks the 29th homicide in Shreveport and Caddo Parish in 2023. The death remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department, to which further media inquiries should be directed.

An autopsy was ordered.
