Storms Could Ruin Shreveport’s Halloween Plans
We really do need the rain. But can't it wait a day?
The US Drought Monitor shows that our area of Louisiana is in a Moderate-to-Severe drought right now, and we've had constant burn bans for weeks. The rain is really important...but at the expense of trick-or-treating?
Sadly, that looks like the forecast in Shreveport and Bossier City.
According to numerous forecasts, Shreveport and Bossier City are currently looking at an 80% or better chance of rain on Thursday, October 31st, 2024. Not just rain, but forecasters like The Weather Channel are calling for thunderstorms to be in the mix. Including lightning and strong winds. Both elements that even the bravest little ghosts, ghouls, and goblins should not be out in.
Currently The Weather Channel is calling for storms during the day, transitioning to consistent showers in the evening and overnight hours. Their forecast suggests this will be the start of a very wet and rainy period, with a chance of rain in 6 of the next 7 days.
