SHREVEPORT, LA – LSU has been dropping like a rock on a couple of college ranking lists and I’m not talking about football this time. Two big online groups have recently released a list of the top party schools in the nation and LSU is not in the top 25 on either of these lists.

But one Louisiana University does make the top 5 on both of these party lists. Barstool Sports puts Tulane at #4 on the list while Niche.com has Tulane at #3. LSU is still in the top 50. But the Bayou Bengals are #44 on the Barstool list and at #49 on the Niche list. LSU used to consistently be one of the top party schools in the nation.

What Has Happened to the LSU Party Image?

These lists are typically based on nightlife in the college towns and student reviews. We all know crime has become a much bigger issue in Baton Rouge lately and that might be having an impact on the partying at LSU. But who really knows? There are 6 SEC schools on this list ahead of LSU.

Tulane has consistently been on the list of party schools for many years. This has a lot to do with the location. New Orleans is a fun city and there is always so much to do. Of course the city is home to one of the biggest party seasons in the nation with Mardi Gras and the city is host to one of the largest music fests in the world with the annual Jazz Festival. Throw a college full of young people in the mix and it’s easy to see why Tulane is always on this list.

Barstool puts Alabama at #1 while the Niche list has University of California at Santa Barbara as #1. Alabama is #4 on the Niche List. UC Santa Barbara is all the way down at #38 on the Barstool list.
