Shreveport and Bossier City residents are bracing for some strong storms moving into northwest Louisiana Thursday night. The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch until 1am Friday morning for this region.

The National Weather service says "a warning is issued when a hazardous weather or hydrologic event is occurring, imminent or likely. A watch is used when the risk of a hazardous weather or hydrologic event has increased significantly, but its occurrence, location or timing is still uncertain."

This storm system will bring wind gusts as high as 30mph. Rainfall amounts for Shreveport and Bossier City could be between 1 and 2 inches. The chance of rain for Thursday night is 100%.
