The annual Highland Jazz & Blues Festival is easily one of Shreveport's more eclectic events and this year's event is stacked with talent.
What's the scoop on the 19th Annual Highland Jazz and Blues Festival?
The 2023 Highland Jazz and Blues Festival is returning to Shreveport’s historic Highland neighborhood in Columbia Park. They made the big announcement last night at Bear's that this year's event will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 11 am to 6 pm. The festival is a free gift to the community thanks to the Highland Area Partnership. Yes, you heard that right. Admission is FREE!
Who's playing at the 2023 Highland Jazz and Blues Festival?
Like any true Louisiana festival, there's going to be a lot of great music! This year's festival will feature nine acts on two stages including Shreveport favorite and Grammy-nominated vocalist/guitarist, Buddy Flett, as well as the Shreveport Regional Jazz Ensemble, De’Lontrell Thomas, Twang Darkly, Co-op Mode, Full on Pocket, Curtis Mills feat. Groove Minded, Zach Edwards and The Medicine, and headliner, J and The Causeways.

What can you expect at this year's Highland Jazz and Blues Festival?
In addition to a ton of great music, there's going to be more than 70 food and art vendors onsite plus a children’s area with multiple activities
planned throughout the afternoon. There's also going to be a dedicated pet area. If you're worried about parking, there will be a free shuttle available that will run to Columbia Park approximately every 30 minutes from a location TBD.
How can I get involved with the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival?
Don't forget, the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival is always looking for a few good volunteers! Okay, fine! They're looking for a small army of volunteers, but you'll get a free shirt and have a ton of fun for your time! The Festival is a non-profit 501(c)3 and is happy to take any help you can give, from setting up at Columbia Park and clean up following the event, to checking in other volunteers, manning the beer booth, working the ticket booth, selling merchandise, and even helping guests in the VIP tent.
