Did you know that Shreveport's Red River Arts Festival is also responsible for Cork, Brew, and the Shreveport Farmers Market? Here are the dates for 2024!

Did You Know that the Red River Revel Arts Festival has been a signature event for Shreveport area residents for nearly 50 years?

The Red River Revel Arts Festival was created in 1976 as a gift from the Junior League of Shreveport. In fact, Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport was actually built for the Revel!

If you grew up here, chances are you took a field trip to the Revel and you know what a gift to our community this event truly is. Research shows that exposure to the arts fuels positive skills and capacities that are valued by leaders and employers, such as persistence, collaboration, creative thinking, problem-solving, and motivation. Plus, art, no matter the medium, makes our world a more beautiful place. In addition to bringing art to the Ark-La-Tex, the Revel also celebrates our unique regional culture.

CORK raises money for a great cause: It supports the Arts Education programs at the Red River Revel Arts Festival, a 9-day celebration each fall with more than 100 artists, plenty of great local food and drink, and all kinds of concerts and performances! Plus, it's your chance to sample over 90 varieties of wine, enjoy appetizers from local restaurants, listen to great music, and see some great local artists' work.

How is the Shreveport Farmers Market connected to the Revel?

The Shreveport Farmers Market is a project of Red River Revel, Inc. and is supported by the Downtown Development Authority, Slow Food North Louisiana, and the City of Shreveport. Here's a little-known fact. The Shreveport Farmers' Market is the only USDA-approved market in the area, which allows them to accept SNAP/EBT payments. Considering how many in our area are food insecure, this is big!
