The Red River Revel is Taking Over Festival Plaza from September 28th Through October 6th.

Shreveport's Red River Revel Arts Festival brings you the best live music from national and regional acts every year. The Red River Revel Arts Festival was created in 1976 as a gift from the Junior League of Shreveport. Did you know Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport was built just for the Revel?

Like many people in the Ark-La-Tex, I can't wait for the amazing concerts that will take over Downtown Shreveport at Festival Plaza. Red River Revel has brought in new ideas and they have even created unique date nights like the Paint Your Partner Night on Thursday, October 3rd.

If you have never been to Red River Revel check out the list of reasons why some people think you should skip the Revel this year. (Please understand that this is very sarcastic and many of us will probably be there multiple nights.)

1. You Have to Meet Talented Artists From All Over America.

One of the best things about buying art at Red River Reel is you get to meet the artists. Some local artists will be there selling their artwork that focuses on the culture right here in Shreveport. Prints of Lauren Ross' viral "Y'all from Shreveport" artwork will be up for sale.

2. There Will Be Countless Concerts Going On Throughout the Day.

Have you been missing live music? This is one of the places where you can eat some of the best food all while watching one of your favorite bands put on one heck of a show.

3. You Have to Eat All the Festival Food.

We all look forward to these festivals for the food, we are all fans of unique eats that you can only get at festivals in Shreveport. You will probably eat so much you feel miserable, good thing you can walk it off checking out the booths at Red River Revel.

4. We Will Be Forced to Enjoy the Outdoors With the Beautiful Weather.

It has been far too hot to try and enjoy the outdoors in Shreveport, however the weather for the opening weekend of Red River Revel calls for all of us to go out and enjoy temperatures in the high 70s to mid-80s.

5. You Have to Hangout With Friends and Share a Cold One With Them.

One of my favorite Revel traditions is walking around Festival Plaza with a cold adult beverage in one hand and a WonderStick in the other as my friend Hillary is trying to locate her next piece of artwork.
