Cypress By the Revenir Opened Up on Line Avenue in Shreveport and So Many People Loved the Upscale Vibe.

In 2019 Shreveport was elated with the promise of a farm-to-table vibe and a sommelier-curated wine menu, who doesn't love a good happy hour with tapas and craft cocktails right? The idea was there and I was convinced that a restaurant like this could survive in Shreveport.

I had the pleasure of enjoying a wine dinner at Cypress and it was delicious depsite the restaurant losing the head chef the day before the event. I remember being so inspired knowing that a sous chef could step up to the plate to make an epic wine dinner happen in a matter of hours. I don't know the name of the sous chef that handled that wine dinner but I hope she ends up at a restaurant where she can showcase her amazing skills.

My First Thought When Cypress Announced Their Closing Was Staff Retention.

It's true, staff retention is hard here in town, however, Cypress also cited the rising cost of food among labor shortages for having to close their doors.

The last day of operation for Cypress will be Saturday, March 9th. If you want to go and see some of your favorite people in the restaurant industry and find out where they will be going next head up there before Cypress closes its doors.

"It’s been a fun multi-year run at Cypress, but we will be closing our doors for good this Saturday, March 9. We’ve met so many incredible people. Enjoyed incredible world-class cocktails and wine. Watched chefs honing their craft. It’s all been worth it. We commend everyone in this industry who is pushing through rising food costs and labor shortages to continue to do the above. It’s a challenging business, so I would encourage the community to continue to give grace and support the incredible restaurant community that we are blessed to have here in Shreveport.
Thank you to everyone who supported us through this journey. It wouldn’t have been possible without some amazing employees (ones who have been with us since our doors opened), who showed grit, put in long hours, and have extreme loyalty that we will forever be grateful for. Thank you to everyone from the community who showed up, and enjoyed their time with our family here at Cypress."
