Shreveport Embraced the Afterlife at the Day of the Dead Festival at Our First-Ever Dia de Muertos Festival in 2023.

Several community members were thrilled that we had El Dia de Muertos Festival that took over the Downtown Festival Plaza. The Hispanic Heritage Association of Northwest Louisiana and 318 Latino teamed up for this grand celebration of culture and tradition. It was a huge success and members of the community keep asking when we can have another party like this one. The good news is that we don't have to wait until November for a fun fiesta.

This Year One of Our Favorite Festivals Has Made an Epic Announcement.

The Red River Revel is set up for September 28th through October 6th, and 2024's theme is “Vámonos Riendo,” which means “let’s go laughing.” Red River Revel has partnered with the Hispanic Heritage Association of Northwest Louisiana.

A special Día De Muertos Festival presented by the Hispanic Heritage Association of NWLA will take over on October 5th. The celebration will have the same things that the last festival had, an altar contest, a Catrina costume contest, cultural performances, and artwork from several Latino artists.
