It was estimated that over 15 and a half million new cars were sold in the United States last year, and about 200,000 of those new cars were sold in Louisiana.
Analyzing new car sales data from 2023, the Automotive Information Services company Edmunds.com Inc. has determined the most popular cars nationwide and in each state.
Nationwide the top-selling cars were not actually cars but trucks and SUVs. The only cars that made the national top 10 were the Tesla Model 3 and the Toyota Camry, which landed at 8th most sold and 10th most sold respectively.
Nationwide the top three most popular vehicles in order of least to best selling are, the Toyota RAV4, the Chevrolet Silverado, and the Ford F-Series, specifically the Ford F-150.
Although the Ford F-Series may have been the most popular Ford was not the best-selling manufacturer, instead, that would be Toyota followed by Chevrolet.
Out of Louisiana's top 5 most popular new cars, only one of them is a car with the rest being trucks.
