Prize Fest is One of the Most Amazing Festivals in the World and We Have it Right Here in Shreveport.

Prize Fest is the final event for five creative competitions film, food, music, fashion, and comedy. At the festival, competitors attend industry networking events with mentors and judges, exhibit their work for for live audiences, and experience the party of a lifetime. One of the coolest things to come out of Prize Fest is Film Prize Junior.

Film Prize Junior's Festival Just Broke Attendance Records.

It was a day of fun and money. There was a live broadcasted Awards Ceremony where the winning films were announced. The best part is that over $18,000 in scholarships and media grants were awarded.
It was also a festival that had a record breaking 96 films from over 50 schools in Louisiana. The festival was part of Shreveport Regional Arts Council’s Artbreak! The competition was created by Tobias Kallenberg, the name may sound familiar because many of us know the name Gregory Kallenberg who is the founder of Film Prize.
Film Prize Junior was created to incentivize students to become engaged in the collaborative, multidisciplinary art form of filmmaking and creative entrepreneurship while guiding students through the entire process from screenwriting to production to marketing of the film. “We’ve never seen this level of excitement and exuberance for Film Prize Junior, and we couldn’t have been prouder to watch so many students and their teachers connect over their films and their creative endeavors,” said Gregory Kallenberg, Executive Director and Founder of the Prize Foundation.

It Was Not Just a Day to Screen Movies, This Festival Fueled Students Imaginations and Motivation.

The festival featured a virtual red carpet for the student filmmakers, film industry-led mentorship panels for students and their teachers. There was also Production Island, which was an interactive exhibit hosted by local filmmakers where students were given guided, hands-on access to cameras as well as lighting and sound equipment. This year's festival also offered a free filmmaking masterclass for students.
We are so grateful to have something like Film Prize Junior in our community.
