We love the fact that at least one former member of the LSU Baseball team and Baton Rouge, LA native is headed to the 2023 MLB World Series starting this Friday!

Which member of the Texas Rangers is not only from Louisiana and played for the LSU Baseball team?

That's easy! The answer is Josh H. Smith, he's a 26-year-old infielder from Baton Rouge, LA who also played for our LSU Fighting Tigers at Alex Box Stadium. Smith made his major league debut in 2022 with the Texas Rangers. CrescentCitySports.com says Smith has had 'eight doubles, one triple, six homers, 15 RBI, and 29 runs this season as a third baseman, shortstop, and left fielder. He was selected in the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees.' And if you've been keeping up with things, the Rangers beat the Astros in game 7 of the ACLS last night sending them to the MLB World Series which kicks off this Friday, October 27, 2023. Who will Josh's team face? That remains to be seen. The Phillies and the Diamondbacks will face off in their own game 7 this evening in the NCLS.

Check out this TikTok of Josh getting called up for his major league debut!
