Is This Undefeated LSUS Team the Best NAIA Baseball Has Ever Seen?
The LSU-Shreveport Pilots baseball team has always been good. As a member of the Almagest (the school paper at LSU-S), I followed and covered the Pilots regularly - specifically superstar and arguably the greatest Pilot of all time, Andrew Brouillette.
However, in all the years I've followed the team and as successful as they've been, I've never seen a Pilots team this good. In fact, they're well on their way to not only being the best Pilots team ever, but the best NAIA team ever.
Is This Undefeated LSUS Team the Best NAIA Baseball Has Ever Seen?
As I mentioned before, this LSU-S Pilots team is something special. A couple of weeks ago, the team went viral for absolutely dominating Texas College. Pretty much every brand that has something to do with sports including Draft Kings, FanDuel had something to say about the Pilots. Literally, for about 3 days, I couldn't get on Facebook or X without seeing something about the Pilots popping up. It was crazy.
I get it. It's WILD the Pilots outscored Texas College 94-4 over a weekend series. But, to me, that's not the crazy part. The crazy part to me is that the Pilots are well on their way to becoming the single greatest team in NAIA baseball history.

The LSU-S Dynasty, Can They Become THE Team to Beat?
The LSU-Shreveport Pilots have always been a great program. 19 Conference Championships and 5 NAIA World Series wins prove it. But, the 2025 edition of the team is something different.
Under current NAIA rules, the baseball season is 24 weeks long with a maximum of 50 games as season. So, the current Pilots can't break the most season wins record set by Lewis-Clark State...because they don't play as many games anymore. So, it's impossible to match their 69-7 record from the 1983 season.

However, they can definitely match or surpass the Win-Loss Percentage record of .935. The 1996 Mount Vernon Nazarene men went 43-3 in 1996. The modern day Pilots are 34-0. They also have a very real chance of breaking the In-Season win streak record of 41 set by Point Park in 1990.
And that's just a small sample of records that potentially could fall if the Pilots keep playing the way they have been.
How Can You Support the LSU-S Pilots Baseball?
Want to jump on the Pilots bandwagon? You still got plenty of time. Their next set of home games is at Pilot Field in Shreveport against Houston-Victoria April 18th & 19th. If you've never been to Pilot Field before, it's located at 62 University Pl, Shreveport, LA.
And, like I said, there's some season left, but you don't want to wait around too long as the season is almost over So, buy your LSU-S merch. Buy tickets to a game. Go support the Pilots!
