Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, has come and gone for 2024. It was an incredible weekend of fandom, art, and cosplay in Downtown Shreveport. Over the span of 3 days, thousands of fans flowed through the Shreveport Convention Center to meet celebrities, shop from various collectibles, get custom artwork, and show off the cosplay work they've put in all year.

That cosplay work was on full display during the Sunday of Geek'd Con, when the $1,000 Cosplay Contest took over the second floor of the convention center.

The cosplay contest at Geek'd Con has produced some incredible winners over the last few years. Winners that have gone on to much larger shows where they have placed in those cosplay contests, or in some cases have won the contests at larger shows. Which shows how much talent there is in our area. In fact, you could argue that the Ark-La-Tex area is pound-for-pound the most talented cosplay area you can find.

Participants competed for their share of cash prizes, free Johnny's Pizza for a year, and other prizes. The contest was once again hosted by Matt Knowles & Steph Cannon from Insymmetry Creations, and judged by a panel of expert cosplayers.

Cosplayers were broken into categories based on their ages, and participated in a pre-registration process. Once pre-judging was completed, contestants were given a chance to walk the stage and show off their work to the crowd. The judges reviewed all of the work to pick their winners.
