Baseball's postseason is officially underway! And there are some fantastic matchups scheduled to take place in the Wild Card round. You have the Houston Astros taking on the Detroit Tigers. The Mets takings on the Brewers. The Braves taking on the Padres.

But the matchup most everyone in our region will be keeping an eye on is the Kansas City Royals taking on the Baltimore Orioles. And that's because there's a lot of regional ties in this game. Kansas City's star player Bobby Witt is a Texas native. Half the Orioles roster is from Texas. But for us here in Louisiana (and specifically North Louisiana), there's one player we're really going to be keeping an eye on: Shreveport-Bossier's own Seth Lugo.

Louisiana Native 'Probable' To Start Game 2 of the Wild Card Round

Seth Lugo is a Louisiana native from the Shreveport-Bossier area. He went to High School at Parkway. He went to College at Centenary. The guy is about as Shreveport-Bossier as it gets.

And, according to MLB.com, Seth is scheduled to make his first ever career playoff start. Which is pretty exciting as he just wrapped up a career high regular season with the Kansas City Royals - racking up 16 wins, 181 strikeouts and a 3.00 ERA.

And unlike some others on the Royals roster, Seth has a little bit of post season experience. While he has never made a start, he did appear in 3 games out of the bullpen with the New York Mets. In those 3 appearances, Seth handled the post season pressure well: 3 appearances, 0 earned runs, 3 strike outs.
