I couldn't believe my eyes when I found this post on Reddit... it's a map of all of the gangs in Shreveport-Bossier City, LA, and their territories.

Did you know there's a map detailing the gangs in Shreveport-Bossier, LA, and their 'territories?'

When I first saw this post on Reddit, my jaw dropped. If this information is readily available, why do we have gangs in Shreveport-Bossier? After all, the authorities were surely alerted to this before I saw it... right? And honestly, who knows how accurate this is? It was posted six months ago by a Reddit user who goes by u/Cotphoods2. That account has since been suspended. Check it out.

However, when you click through to the map, it shows it was updated 9 days ago.

I don't know about you, but if I did delivery for companies like DoorDash or Walmart Grocery, I don't think I'd accept orders in those areas. But what about the people who live there and don't have the means to remove themselves from the situation?

Of course, the presence of gangs in our area is nothing new. I found an informative video that chronicles the rise of gang activity in our area. It was posted in December of 2021 and when posted, it cited the stat that 'Shreveport Louisiana is currently ranked #5 in the nation when it comes to murder and gun violence.' While that information is outdated, it's still alarming... especially since gun violence in our area doesn't seem to be going away.
